Adventure Boat!

A lot of our friends (and family) have asked how we came up with this #RVlife idea.

Well, the story goes something like this...

It is 6:23 am on a Tuesday. The baby is still sleeping, which means there must be a planetary alignment or something. 

Ryan jumps into bed with me and snuggles up to my ear. I'm sleepy, and his movements were too quick to have included coffee, so I was about to hide under the covers when he whispers a few magical words in my ear.

"You know how you've always wanted to live on a boat and sail the world?"

This wakes me enough to crack a peek at him. "Yes," I mumble, wondering where this is going.

"What if..." and with this, he is bouncing me into a seated position. "What if we did that... but on land?!"

My sleepy gaze must have looked bemused and confused, so he pressed on.

What if we get rid of everything and get an RV and travel the United States?!

• Okay. Commercial Break: Ryan and I have been in discussion for MONTHS about where we want to live and plant roots after we transition out of the Marine Corps. He's from Arkansas and I'm from Utah, we met in Washington, DC. and honestly, we don't feel the pull of returning to any of those places we once called home. We want to find a community where we can serve and grow. ~Back to the story...

My eyes open fully and I taste a smile on my lips. "This is brilliant. Let's DO IT!"

That is all it took. And, well, six weeks later, after hours of research and loads of discussions WE DID IT!

We bought our 1997 Fleetwood Arrow 35' Class A RV. 

Of course, this is just the beginning.
